Ingredients
- Ribeye steak (1-1.5 inches thick)
- Unsalted butter
- Fresh garlic cloves
- Fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary)
- Salt & pepper
Instructions
- Allow the ribeye steak to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Generously season both sides of the steak with salt and pepper, pressing the seasoning into the meat.
- Preheat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the seasoned steak for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a crust forms, then flip it over.
- Reduce heat to medium-low, add butter, crushed garlic, and fresh herbs to the skillet.
- Continuously spoon melted butter over the steak while it cooks for another 4-5 minutes or until your desired doneness is reached (medium-rare: 135°F).
- Let the steak rest for at least five minutes before slicing.
