Ingredients

  • 1 lb halal ground beef or turkey
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). In a bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, parsley, garlic powder, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
  2. Form mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. While meatballs bake, warm marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
  5. Assemble subs by placing two or three meatballs in each toasted roll, generously topping with marinara sauce.
  6. Add shredded cheese on top and broil for 2 minutes until bubbly.
