  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 12 servings

Ingredients

  • All-Purpose Flour
  • Active Dry Yeast
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Salt
  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Powdered Sugar

Instructions

  1. Warm milk to about 110°F (43°C) and sprinkle in active dry yeast; let it sit until bubbly.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and eggs, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Roll out the dough to ½ inch thick and cut into squares or circles.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry beignets for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
