Instructions
- 1. Prepare ingredients: Chop the onion, slice the mushrooms, and mince the garlic.
- 2. Brown the ground beef: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned (about 5 minutes).
- 3. Sauté vegetables: Add onions and mushrooms; cook until softened (about 4 minutes). Stir in garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- 4. Create gravy base: Sprinkle flour over the mixture; stir well. Gradually add beef broth while stirring continuously until slightly thickened (about 3 minutes).
- 5. Mix in sour cream: Reduce heat to low; stir in sour cream until combined and warmed through (about 2 minutes). Do not boil.
- 6. Serve: Transfer beef stroganoff over cooked egg noodles or rice; garnish with parsley if desired.
