Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 cup cold unsalted butter
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Gradually add warm milk until a shaggy dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Shape into a ball, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least one hour.
- Roll cold butter into a rectangle and chill while rolling out the dough into another rectangle.
- Encase the butter in the dough and perform three single folds with chilling in between each fold.
- Roll out into triangles and shape into croissants before letting them rise until doubled in size.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
