Ingredients
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 large onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cans (15 oz each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 4 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a large pot over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Incorporate the diced onion, minced garlic, and chopped bell pepper. Sauté for about five minutes until softened.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and cover the pot. Cook for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld together.
- Taste before serving; adjust seasoning as needed.
